2000 Time Capsule

Each grade level contributed items and made predictions about what life would be like in the year 2025. Handwritten notes, photos, magazines, toys, coins, a Pokemon card, and more were placed in the time capsule. Installed at North Prairie Jr. High, it was placed in the ceiling near the multi-purpose room.

 

On May 23rd, 2025 the time capsule was opened. The items were removed and displayed inside the school for students to look through. 

 

Over the summer, each item was turned into a digital image for the community to view. 

Toys/Pop Culture - selected by the Kindergarten class and 7th grade class.

 

Movies/TV - selected by the 1st grade class.

 

Transportation/Technology - selected by the 2nd grade and 6th grade classes.

 

Environment/Medicine - selected by the 3rd grade class and 8th grade class.

 

Sports - selected by the 4th grade class.

 

US Government/Geography - selected by the 5th grade class.

 

Winthrop Harbor Schools - images, letters, and information about Winthrop Harbor from all grade levels.
